I _thought_ all I needed to do was to add a line like:
/dev/sda1 /media/sda1 fuseblk
rw,user,nosuid,nodev,noatime,allow_other,blksize=4096 0 0
fuseblk as a FS ?
I'd guess things like network, kernel modules etc.
You could also put it under the control of the autofs that will mount it
"on demand"
