I regret to announce that I have reconsidered my candidacy for SDCS
president this year and have decided not to run.
Many of you may not be aware, but my wife and I are expecting our
first child in September. On top of that I'm finding myself busier in
my professional life due to some new contracts. On the flip side of
all this positive news is the realization that I'm going to have
little to no time to dedicate to achieving the goals that I would have
as president of SDCS.
I am going to re-run to stay on the SDCS board as a Director at Large,
and will continue to look out for all the SIG's interests. I stand by
what I said about SDCS being able to *do more* with its resources, and
still hope to be able to start movement in that direction, even
without myself at the immediate helm. And of course I will re-
consider my presidential run again when elections come around next
year... hopefully by then I'll have the child project under control. :)
So please... keep bending my ear with ideas for SDCS projects... we'll
see what we can do this year! And I heavily encourage any motivated
KPLUG members to put their names in the hat for more of the Director
At Large positions on the SDCS board... there are 4 to be filled, and
the more good people we have in there, the more good things we can do.
