I have a friend with a theory.  She's a fierce independent and hates
Republicans and Democrats both.  But she's considering voting Democrat
simply because at least the Democrats are talking about the kind of
stuff that government should be talking about, even if they're saying
the wrong things.

You're going to get bad things either way, but voting for a Republican
just means you get bad things *and* you're saying that these topics
are proper territory for government to tread.  (Morality is *not* an
okay area for government to tread.)
