I would look at cutting off the metal sleeve and fiberboard connector from the
male connector and do it just short of extending out the USB socket. Then, fill
flush with a thickened epoxy to adhere and block the opening. This way, with
a pick or demel, you could get the USB port back if you really needed it because
the electrical connections are still there and protected by the "filler"
installed
before epoxying.
