I also have one of those -- an AWLL2026/NA (zd1211rw module) and had some problems with earlier kernels, but it seems reliable recently. Since centos (rhel, etc) seems to lag quite a bit in kernel versions, you may not get the same results as current zd1211rw users. I may be wrong, but Wireless usability may not be a high priority for those distros.
