Can you run your graphics locally but NFS mount your $HOME from a linode.com
VM?  That way when you are on travel you data is in the cloud and your graphics
are local......no worries about gubment getting any sensitive info.

First, try using a 1GB data file over NFS over a laggy 10BaseT and get back to me on that.

Second, I don't trust the Linux NFS implementation any further than I can throw it. In fact, I don't trust it that far.

Third, I'm more worried about the inconvenience of getting seized than compromised. Although, I will assume any machine seized by the government is compromised and promptly discard it.
