Interesting.

I have been generally happy with ssh over my 100 Mbps LAN, because I'be
been comparing it with ISP pipes[1], but it's nice to know there are
additional parms to tweak.

Uploading to a virtual-host remote seems to get hit by roadrunner upload
 limits and virtual host cpu-sharing performance degradation (I'm
guessing on the latter).
