allow interaction with the host computer, or is it just to receive
power?

I was leaning more toward a keyfob with an LCD. That would be the starting point. If someone figured out a good way to make use of the USB interface, more power to them, but a something which works *exactly* like the SecurID fobs would be easier to convince people about.

Success is often based more upon marketing than technical factors.
