But I thought of vi (and how much I hated it when I first was learning it,
and how much I love it now) as I typed.
Dare I admit that I still hate using vi. The 1st thing I learned about
using vi was how to exit and not
modify the file in doing so. Once I got used to editors with multiple
windows where I could see more than 1 file
at a time, it was tough to not use that. Now it's hard to work without 2
monitors.
(I only power the 2nd one when actually using it)
None of this is to impugn the OP's question about Linux IDEs, of course.
I paid my dues writing machine code on a Teletype and also the time they
turned off my electricity while going to school and I had to write
machine code by candlelight before a class the next morning. Now that's
a real IDE! ;)
