They've been working on hurd for over a decade, without anything usable.  For a 
long time, and possibly still, hard drives over a few GB were not supported 
because they memory mapped the entire hard drive and any hard drive larger than 
main memory was unusable.  With poor decision making like that, I have no faith 
whatsoever in hurd ever reaching the level of usability, much less being good.
