Fedora does indeed have an update system, which they refer to as
"up2date". There is even an icon that sits in the system tray much
like on Windows that throbs a red exclamation point ("!") when there
are updates for your system.
I have been playing with Linux for years but I am finally going to
own a standalone computer with Linux. i will probably load Fedora
since it is popular. Does Linux have a update/patch system similar
to Windows so I know I have up to date security moving forward?
is it really going to be "standalone" ?
up2date needs Internet access to find out there are updates.
If you are really standalone, you might want to find out how you are
going to get the updates to your Linux box to patch it....CD-R ?
