Tonight's Kernel-Panic Linux User Group (KPLUG) meeting will have an added component to the usual fare. In case you don't know, KPLUG is actually a Special Interest Group of the San Diego Computer Society (SDCS), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization <http://www.sdcs.org>. Our association with the SDCS is what allows us to accept donations, do our raffles, and helps get us our rooms for presentations. The SDCS also provides us with insurance to cover our activities.
At tonight's meeting we will be holding elections for the SDCS officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary) and Directors at Large. This will happen at the beginning of the meeting, so that those members in the other SIGs that don't want to stick around for Lan Barnes scintillating presentation on TCL/TK and PostgreSQL can leave. Voting is important to the continued existence of our group. In order to conduct the vote we need a quorum, so I encourage all of you to attend tonights meeting. If you can't remember if you are a current member or not, show up and I'll get you up to date on the membership. Membership is only $6/year and for that you'll get six raffle tickets. If you don't want to use them then, I'll give you an IOU good for any future date. Directions to the meeting are on the web site <http://www.kernel-panic.org>. Respectfully, Gus Wirth Membership Chairman Kernel-Panic Linux Users Group -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-newbie
