Or does Wine need the Windows installation also? http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=6482 You need the proprietary nVidia drivers installed to get the openGL driver support. You do not need any M$ Windows stuff to run most applications under WINE, however there are sometimes DLL's from M$ Windows that you may need to bring over for some specific apps.
I think i got this working. Dont' really know how to test if the nvidia drivers are working and are excellerating(sp?) properly. The only way to run an application off an USB drive is if it stores
everything in its own directory structure. That is highly unlikely for a M$ Windows application because they tend to store parts and pieces all over the place and make extensive use of the registry. It could be theoretically possible to build a script that could copy/symlink the files and do an export/merge on the registry but I wouldn't recommend it.
Yea WoW does store everything in it's own directory. I already do this with my wifes laptop on trips. I copy my WoW directory to a USB drive and jsut play from that on the laptop. Nothing gets stored on the laptop. Also, i just read some more information and i can actually copy WoW directory from NTFS to Linux and it should work there also. Gonna try tonite. Here's hoping. Gus
