Actually, now that I think about it, both of those CentOS machines
have a bunch of things added to $PATH in /etc/profile, so all users
(including root) get access to the MRI analysis software used in the
lab.

For the machines with fewer possibilities as root, the only difference
is that root's $PATH doesn't include the user's $HOME/bin or
/usr/games.
