A quick tour through the man pages makes me believe that with
appropriate switch settings, useradd does exactly the same as
luseradd.  The immediate striking difference is the -m "create home"
switch to useradd, which seems to be implied in luseradd, as Gus
points out.

The next observed difference is that luseradd refers to field 5 of the
passwd file as gecos, while useradd refers to it as "comment".  GECOS
is so old that it predates Unix.
