Open /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 in vi and do the following: Comment out BOOTRPOTO=static, and uncomment BOOTPROTO=dhcp Comment out the lines beginning with: IPADDR= NETMASK= GATEWAY= BROADCAST= Type <Esc> :wq to save and exit vi Just to be safe, turn off DNS until you get to class Saturday. chkconfig --level 35 named off service named stop There is the chance that dhclient might try to hold on to old information so: pkill dhclient Restart the network service. service network restart That should take care of it until class.
