Was wondering if there was a concrete topic for the October 11th Meeting? I
checked the website and it hasn't been updated since May.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to update the website for meeting topics and dates.

It would be a great idea, if we had a volunteer to do a presentation. So far
no one has stepped up to volunteer. I'm a little slow asking, so it's partly
my fault.

Anybody have something they want to present for the meeting?

There was a sizable expression of interest in gaming (and graphics
generally), including programming and/or user-oriented topics.

Is there someone who can put together _anything_ in these areas?

Even short presentations or demos would probably be well-received.

Anyone who knows someone with knowledge/experience in these areas, maybe
you could forward them this request and encourage them to step up.

When I gave my last presentation on the X Window System I never finished up talking about dealing with proprietary graphics drivers, in particular those from nVidia and ATI. I could finish that up. I think it would probably take up at least an hour and I can show how I backported an ATI driver. That part is pretty technical but the rest isn't.

This came up as topic at the Installfest at "That Technical Bookstore" this weekend.

Then maybe we could have a Halloween party!
