I'm in the process of consolidating the colo cabinet where SparKPLUG
currently lives with another one that belongs to a customer of mine.
Unfortunately, with the merging of equipment, the new cabinet is
running short on power, even given 40 Amps to work with.
Therefore, at least through the holidays, SparKPLUG is going to have
to come live downtown in my office. It will have a static IP, UPS
power protection, and a 3Mbit full duplex connection to the internet,
so it should be plenty happy in its temporary digs.
Once we get through the holidays, I'll be making a decision on how to
resolve the power issue in the colo cabinet. If it leads to extra
power becoming available, then Sparky will go back home. Otherwise
I'm not sure... we'll play it by ear and worry about that when it comes.
Just to let everyone know... I'm going to contact Neil a little later
today with the new DNS information, and he's already got the TTL set
very low so the switchover should involve only a minimum amount of
downtime tonight. By tomorrow morning, no one will know that anything
changed! :)
(Except of course the members of this list...)
