KRnetHeads,

Bob's situation is really tragic news. I'm sure all KRnet members wish for
the best possible outcome, and will keep him in their thoughts. Bob is a
really great guy, and sharp builder. From what I remember, his work is
awesome.

Unfortunately, the website link doesn't work...it looks like his domain name
has expired, and is now up for sale. There are vultures scouring the web
for valuable domain names, and apparently it's already been snagged, and up
for sale for $985. The link to his content has likely been deleted, but
I've emailed Cheryl for help getting a copy of it off his server. Given
that he had an Apache server (at home, I think) that he ran
www.krgathering.org from, I'm sure the content or a backup still exists
somewhere, and I hope she can find it. If not, I'll get some photos and
post a link to them when I get them.

I've had many conversations with Bob regarding the VW Type 4 engine (which
is what he's using on his project). From those conversations, I can tell
you Bob is a critical thinker and does things right. The engine is set up
for fuel injection. Somebody will get a project that is very well done. If
my link on KRnet is correct, it is a KR2.

A few weeks ago Bob asked me if I'd take over the www.krgathering.org site,
and I told him I would. I hadn't heard back from him, but now I know why.
I'll fold that into www.krnet.org (to avoid having to pay for another
domain), but would appreciate it if someone on the list could handle the
registration part of it, if there are any software developer types on the
list. Otherwise we can handle registration the old fashioned way...email.

By the way, if something similar happens to me, my wife has agreed to keep
www.krnet.org alive long enough for somebody else to take over. I pay the
domain bill years in advance, just in case.
