Comms; I am going with a hand-held.

As for GPS; The IFLY's are very nice.  I have a friend who loves flying his
RV4.  For him, the ForeFlight app is the way to go.  I agree with him if
you aren't' apposed to using your iPhone as your display however this app
can be uploaded onto iPads as well.  iPad would be my choice.  There are
iPad mounts for this if you want a place to doc in on your panel.  It even
has weather.  Continued use of the GPS can run the battery down fast so I
would recommend a onboard power source.
