I have over 500 hrs on my 2180 cc, standard shrink fit hub, with a 3 inch
aluminum extension. No problems with the standard bearing or the crank. And I
have pulled tight turns at high engine rpms.ALWAYS USE A WOOD PROP! Anything
else is too heavy.

Subject: KR> Prop Shaft Extension

Owen,
On your web site pictures looks like you have an extension on the prop shaft
for the VW engine.? Steve Bennett was always adamant about keeping the
propeller weight to a minimum, not putting extensions on the crank shaft or
anything that would aggravate the gyroscopic forces on the VW crank shaft.
