All:
I purchased a flying KR2 and am in the process of converting it to Diehl
tri gear. The wheels that came off it (I believe) are Matco with 5/8"
axles. Thinking that I could utilize the existing tires and brakes, I
bought a pair of Grove axles (P/N 5010) that are suitable for aircraft
up to 1,050 lbs gross weight. With the KR2's stated gross weight of 960
lbs, they should be fine. However, I've got a nagging voice telling me
that I aught to install axles that are heavier duty - Grove has a
graciously offered to exchange the axles for others, should I choose
(the epitome of the no-hassle return policy). I'd be interested in your
thoughts.
