Would it be okay to add another 1 inch tube over top of the 3/4" and secure it at both ends with the same AN3 bolts, effectively doubling the span? Colin Rainey KR2(td)
It might work but, it would double the weight (and aft at that) and in a KR that's not good a good thing. You could cut the 3/4" tube away leaving a short stub on each end with the 1" tube over the stub. I might add, that the larger the tube, the less susceptible it is to bending. Even while vibrating slightly a tube is bending and if a heavy gust load should hit at the wrong moment it could buckle. Lynn
