Larry; My SB is 6 x 30" and it deploys 30 degrees. The main difference I notice in landing is that there is much less float with the SB deployed. I haven't checked it on descent...since I don't use it on descent. I just pull the throttle back with no worries about cracking heads, since I'm water cooled. However, I suppose I'll give it a try.
