Ron,

Are you saying that my aluminum mounting bracket will not make a good
contact to the copper tape ground plane? Is there anyway to improve upon
that?

Use the copper tape supplied by Jim Weir for a good solution and low
weight.

Repeat after me,"You cannot make a reliable connection to ALUMINUM with
care and great effort.

Clay,
I have the same but a 2s and I made mine with 3/4" x 1/16" aluminum flat
bar
placed on top of the longeron cross braces under the turtle deck. Make
an X
with the antenna mounted in the center and you have a good ground plane.
Search the archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/search or
http://www.escribe.com/aviation/krnet/ and you will find lots of
suggestions.

My ELT is a AK-450, I would like to mount the antenna some where out of
sight,
however the instruction call for a 36 inch ground plane. This is
difficult
to do in a
KR-2. What are some solutions to make a acceptable installation? Is a
36
inch
ground plane standard?
Thanks:
Clay Brod
