With Outlook Express, place curser on the name of the person the message is "from" and right click the mouse. A drop-down menu will appear that includes "properties". Left click "properties" and the email address will appear. Follow Mark's instructions from there, to copy and paste.
BTW, I think the 2 X 4 is only necessary to get one's attention. After that, verbal instructions work fine.
