Silicones have to be the worst, seems that you can wash whatever the part may be till the cows come home and there will still be a small amount left behind to screw up an otherwise perfect job. Doug Rupert
Personally, I'd try to stay away from wax and silicones until after the plane is completely painted though, knowing what little I do about painting stuff.
