In my case I'm thinking that using "deck cloth" glass to cover the
fuselage made the job easier.

Everyone speaks of covering/sealing the wood with "something"
anyway. Why not add maybe 8 ounces of glass, eliminate probably
more than that in weight for finishing, add some small amount of
strength to the structure, eliminate a lot of finishing work, eliminate
later cracking that will allow the wood to "breath", etc, etc, etc,

Tony Bingalis recommends using it and so do I. The weave on
the deck cloth is so fine that the only finish I needed on it
was the primer and paint. If you're thinking of sealing the wood
with epoxy, use the epoxy to wet out the deck cloth and save
the weight of the filler you were going to use. I used the deck
cloth as a finish over my wings and tail surfaces, over the KR
cloth, to eliminate having to fill the weave of the KR cloth.
If applied while the KR cloth is still "wet", the deck cloth will
get half the resin it needs, or more, from the KR cloth.

As always, your results may vary..........
