Longer wings will help the KR will smaller engines get a bit better climb rate but the extra length means more lift and more "wetted area" at cruise and therefore hurting the cruise a bit. Also, the longer wings, such as the Diehl premolded skins, will cut down the G rating of the wing by 1/2 G. At least that's the word I got from Jeanette Rand several years ago. Speaking of Jeanette Rand, she returned my phone call today and indicated she plans to attend the 2005 KR Gathering in Mt.Vernon.
