Larry, I did widen mine after the boat but I would not recomend it. It is a 
difficult proceedure and would have been much faster to just start over. I 
needed the room at the shoulders so I cut out the top logerons from just 
behind the fore spar to just in front of the rear spar and down to the top 
of the top wing surface at the stub wings where they meet the fuslage sides. 
I then added 2 extra top longerons outside where the old ones were cut out. 
Then added  vertical  and truss members back to regain the necessary 
structural strength. Then re skinned the new sides and blended with the 
existing sides fore and aft. This alowed me to put in arm rests on the sides 
and give the pilot and passenger more elbow and shoulder room. I have to say 
I like the way it is turning out but this is major surgery and adds extra 
weight to the finnished product. There is no change to the width at the 
bottom of the boat.
