In all of the e-mails that have passed through, I have found most interst in the rebuild and that of the new airfoils.
I purchased a hull and 80% finished DD wings. The fuse was on its gear had a turtle deck and tail was basically finished. I didnt like the look of the turtle deck, cut it off.... good thing it weighted almost 35 lbs. The tail has a little left built in. The plane is a kr2 and had a 14in bay placed aft of the cockpit. The plane is a tri gear. I am sending this out to get an opinion from the group. Whie I think that there is alot of movement in the automotive /aircraft conversions.... I still do not trust an automotive engine in my plane... but because of the tail, I can not really run an aircraft O200. My thoughts are this. Build a new fuse 44 inches wide, KR2SS, w/ o200 or like engine. I would be able to strip all the hardware off the existing plane... sell the boat and DD wings... the new plane would have the better/new airfoil. I know and realize that the plane is strong enough if built to stock.. but I believe that if I use carbon throughout I would be able to save some weight or keep the same same weight for a bit more strength. beef up the front end to carry abit more weight. I dont believe that it would not take me all that long to buld a new fuse and spars... if I got to it... a few months to have it back to the state that its at now. The wings are another story. If I keep my current plane.. I am going to turn it into a single seater... its just not big enough for my big butt and my kid and run it with a VW engine. Once again, thanks agin for the direction and information. -Jeff Wilder CISSP,CCE,C/EH -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GIT/CM/CS/O d- s:+ a C+++ UH++ P L++ E- w-- N+++ o-- K- w O- M-- V-- PS+ PE- Y++ PGP++ t+ 5- X-- R* tv b++ DI++ D++ G e* h--- r- y+++* ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ >From: larry flesner <fles...@midwest.net> >Reply-To: KRnet <kr...@mylist.net> >To: KRnet <kr...@mylist.net> >Subject: KR> Flight Report/ Gathering dates >Date: Thu, 06 Oct 2005 21:51:49 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Sender: fles...@pop.midwest.net (Unverified) >Received: from lizard.esosoft.net ([38.118.200.18]) by mc7-f23.hotmail.com >with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Thu, 6 Oct 2005 19:55:14 -0700 >Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1] helo=lizard.esosoft.net)by >lizard.esosoft.net with esmtp (Exim 4.43)id 1ENiNu-000DUZ-Fb; Thu, 06 Oct >2005 19:54:58 -0700 >Received: from onempop-canada.atl.sa.earthlink.net ([207.69.195.60])by >lizard.esosoft.net with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1ENiNY-000DTN-QUfor >kr...@mylist.net; Thu, 06 Oct 2005 19:54:36 -0700 >Received: from dialup-4.159.177.100.dial1.chicago1.level3.net >([4.159.177.100]helo=larry-flesner)by onempop-canada.atl.sa.earthlink.net >with smtp (Exim 3.36 #10)id 1ENiMZ-0006cv-00for kr...@mylist.net; Thu, 06 >Oct 2005 22:53:35 -0400 >X-Message-Info: loPmDlX8LgffpmA/oICvv9HdDUCk5iqExb1Bd3U2+t8= >X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Light Version 3.0.6 (32) >X-BeenThere: kr...@mylist.net >X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.4 >Precedence: list >List-Id: KRnet <krnet.mylist.net> >List-Unsubscribe: ><http://mylist.net/listinfo/krnet>,<mailto:krnet-requ...@mylist.net?subject=unsubscribe> >List-Archive: <http://mylist.net/private/krnet> >List-Post: <mailto:kr...@mylist.net> >List-Help: <mailto:krnet-requ...@mylist.net?subject=help> >List-Subscribe: ><http://mylist.net/listinfo/krnet>,<mailto:krnet-requ...@mylist.net?subject=subscribe> >Errors-To: krnet-boun...@mylist.net >Return-Path: krnet-boun...@mylist.net >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 07 Oct 2005 02:55:14.0599 (UTC) >FILETIME=[8A933B70:01C5CAEA] > > Larry you have got to set the dates for > >the 2006 Gathering so I can start the countdown. > >>Mark Jones >++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ > >Sept 29 and 30, 2006 !!!!!!!!
