Yes, I had the same question, the KR is a great conventional gear airplane.  
However, about the CG not changing in the air.  Well, CG is all about what it 
is in the air.  We really don't care much what it is on the ground, if there is 
a difference.  There is no way that you can take the tail wheel off the plane 
and not change the CG.  Also no way you can move the main from the front of the 
spar to the rear of the spar and not change the CG, and really no way you can 
add the weight of a nose wheel forward of the center of pressure and not change 
the CG.  Your CG will change.  The question here is How Much?  Certainly, there 
must be some builders out there who had done their CG when it was a TD and then 
done it again after it was converted to a TW.  Certainly, this builder never 
will, cause I love my TD.
