I have had the misfortune of being caught in clouds in a Pietenpol and having 
to do a let down and turn while in cloud. In level flight you can keep the 
wings level by cross referencing the compass and slip ball.This will work 
regardless of direction of flight. If the compass is swinging and the ball is 
centered and the compass is level you are turning. If the ball is checked, 
compass tilted, no or little swing, then you are not wings level. Remember that 
when turning that the compass will lead or lag depending on which way you turn. 
The old diddy of east is least and west is best woud apply here.
