Then it is due for an overhaul. You might look up any ad's that were applied to your magneto. Just do a google search keywords something like " magneto, bendix, 4016 AD". As I remember there is a problem with the coil in the mag and the replacement is about 200 or so $. Also the check that the impulse coupling snaps when you turn the mag by hand. Do this very sparingly as the electricity has to go some where and it is hard on the mag. Or just ground out the "P" lead to the mag case
