NetHeads, I'm starting to think I just might make SNF after all, thanks to a one week slip in the schedule that I'm hoping is going to happen. There will be some new Corvair and KR guys flying in this year, so just for a heads up, let me show you where we've been parking lately. See the map at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/LAL_parking.pdf (it's a big one) and where you see the red pentagon is where we've been parking. Don't forget to bring a placard with a big black HB on it so the volunteers will steer you towards the homebuilt area. To be precise, we are in the "automotive conversion" area of the homebuilt area. This area is right by the fence and the gate on the taxi way that leads right into the exhibit hall area (the four big blue buildings) and the heart of the Fly Market. If I go (and right now I think I can) I'll get there Thursday before the airshow, and hope to camp in the same area as last year with Brian Kraut and company. Like Dave Stroud, I'll be looking for beer, and I'll bet Joe Horton will be with me.
Flying in there is a piece of cake compared to OSH, mainly because the NOTAM is so much better, and the path so well defined (I had no idea where I was going on the way into OSH). My plane will be even more hideous than usual...with no spinner, bald tires, etc, but it will turn a grueling 12 hour drive into a wonderful 3.5 hour flight, putting me right in the middle of the fun. It's a personal time machine, I tell ya! See y'all there, I hope...
