I managed to leave work "early" today, and got in another 1.5 hours before sunset. I never got over 1000' AGL or much under wide open throttle. What a blast! I ended up over southern Tennessee and checked on the change to fall colors. That's some pretty nice countryside. The air was really calm and I greased four 3-pointers at M38 doing touch-and-goes before I quit. Life is good.
Saturday I'm going to visit my best friend from high school, who I haven't seen for 30 years. His brother was the first guy to walk up shake my hand at SERFI last weekend. He said he'd been keeping up with me on the internet, and recognized my ugly plane as I was landing. I told him since I had a personal time machine, I'd be back this weekend to visit with them. They recently moved back from Texas, which I was planning to visit this winter to visit with them and Oscar Zuniga. After spending some time with them on Saturday, I'll drop into the hayfield to see my father. Maybe I'll have another picture for that one. See http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/flights/081031303m.jpg for one of many great views I encountered along the way. Keep on building...
