Very much agree with that.  Or going just with a TruTrak ADI with the GPS
track readout as I've done currently.  It uses .3 amps and weighs next to
nothing.  It's necessary to connect 12 volts & pitot air.

I had a small venturi on my first KR, mounted normally, and it worked
fine for one vacuum instrument.  I could have mounted two, or a larger
one, for more capacity.  

Gulf Coast has the best price for TruTraks at $1150.  There's an ADI,
(including the autopilot module!), brand new on eBay for $1000 . . . or
there was this morning.  People are always upgrading electronics and
there's some great deals to be had.  The Van's Air Force forums is one
good place to keep an eye out.  

Still though, a venturi is cheap and works just fine.
