If those prices are anywhere near the ballpark, someone selling a KR
would sure do better in the UK than here. I think Marty's went overseas,
probably for that reason.

Larry, you were right. I wrote the 7.2 Ah gelcell off too quickly. I
thought it was toast because when putting the charger on it the charger
needle would not register any movement. I recently left the charger on
it at 2 amps for 24 hours and voltage climbed from 5.4 or so to 13.85.
The charger needle was in the same position before and after - have no
idea why. I took the readings with a multimeter. I took it down to the
battery tester today and pulled 50 amps on it for a few seconds, twice.
It didn't fail the test, so it looks like I still have a good Yuasa
gelcell. I've read several times about ruining batteries through
excessively discharging them (maybe it's deep-cycle batteries I'm
thinking of), but my experience now matches yours and a couple other
people who have deeply discharged batteries and then got them back in
service without apparent harm.

For anyone needing to calibrate their encoders, if you have an ACK A-30
the company will overhaul your encoder and calibrate it to a fine point
for $60. If you have one of the later models they'll even do it for
free. Mine has been reading 300 feet high since I installed it. Most
instrument shops will charge more than $60 to calibrate an encoder.
