How does one go about editing this list to add current information and add
a new name? I tried the "Edit" button, but it didn't save the changes.
Also, is the Frappr site still being used and updated?

I also have some parts for a regular KR2 that I don't need. Parts include a
turtle deck, forward deck, and some other items. Free to someone who will
pick them up.

Hey KRneters,
I was just wondering where we can get KR-2 components since it sounds like
RR is
way to hard to get a hold of these days. I was also wondering if anyone has
put
a BMW motorcycle engine on a KR yet.

There's an "Add a new member" and an "Edit existing member" button on
the very top of the page. I just edited my own information and it
worked just fine.

That was the best I've ever seen! Great scenery and camera work. Love the
pan shots and the aft facing shots. How did you know that beach was suitably
hard to land on? Neve done a beach landing myself.

I think I forwarded a link some months ago to a couple of short clips of

footage into a little video. I have titled it "Landing on Vargas Island &
Return flight to Nanaimo." Unfortunately the music (perfect) I'd picked got
rejected because of copywrite. Sigh. So....I just removed it and left the
engine noise at 'quiet' rather than re-do it all. Enjoy the flight.

My first CFI was a gifted pilot and a crotch rocket fiend. He was 23 years
old when he missed a curve and hit a telephone pole. His ashes were
scattered from an airplane. In a plane death is always present, but often a
mile or more away. On a motorcycle, death is always about 3 feet away. In a

If your bike is more fun than your plane, you obviously aren't flying a KR!

Motorcycles are more fun than airplanes but if you busted your ass on a
motorcycle you want to stay away from airplanes, an airplane accident would
maybe kill you.

I hate to spoil all the fun here, but I have not seen one post that had
anything to do with using a BMW engine in a KR, other than the original
question.

Thank you for your consideration.

Just chiming in on the motorcycle engine idea. I was in an army unit a few
years back that flew UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles) that were powered by
Moto Guzzi engines. These are transverse v-twins rated at about 75
horsepower each, and were set up in a twin engine centerline thrust
configuration (push me - pull you.) I'm not sure what the max gross weight
on them was, but it was rumoured that it in a rescue situation they were
capable of carrying two passengers, one strapped onto each wing. I'm not
sure I would want to put my trust in a pilot who was on the ground, possibly
hundreds of miles away, but if they could carry that kind of weight in
addition to the fuel and onboard equipment they already had it must have put
them well over 1000 lbs.
Seems like it would certainly be possible to use such a motorcycle engine in
at least a KR1 if not a KR2.

The R1100 engine has 98 horsepower at 7500 rpm. This is a little high for a
propeller, and the load of a motorcycle might be different for a propeller.
I
just wanted to see if anyone has heard how the BMW R-engine does on an
airplane.
I have been told through some research that the Rotax gearbox will go on a
BMW
engine. The question is how does this go on a KR and will it be a reliable
setup for a KR?

Sorry Dan. Knew a guy years ago that flew a BMW in a cassett out of the
Rifle-Glenwood Springs area of Colo. He flew a lot, short distances, but
this is in the REAL Rocky Mnts. He said you had to continually Tweak it to
get best performance and not sure how he done that in fight . Every time I
arrived, in my Champ (no treaking) he was Tweaking but he defiantly liked it
and flew it a lot. Not much help but all I've got. Hope someone has
something more currant. Larry

WOW what a rush to see and hear my rev master turbo come to life on N379NS!
I know some of you have already experienced it and I've heard you talking
about it but what a feeling. After five years of building I finally see
light at the end of the tunnel.
