Fred, this is totally off topic on your question but if you go to Mark Jones's 
website and see how I sealed his alum tanks, you could avoid the welding 
process.  Proseal, or the other tank sealant on Van's website is a great sealer 
used on the entire Van's fleet of aircraft.  Just use the correct pop rivets, 
listed on Mark's site, and you won't have any leaks.
