Most back-up solutions are intrusive, cumbersome to use, or just plain
don't work when you go to restore the "mirror.". Casper duplicates the
entire disk, OS and all, so if for any reason the primary disk has failed
you just pop in the back-up HD and you're back in the air. There's no
fooling with restoring mirrors that so often get tangled and at the very
least are proprietary to the software that created them. Since I don't
trend toward computer problems I only do it once a month or so but with a
different situation I would do it either daily or set the option to keep
a constant back up going. Or both. It's very flexible and utterly
simple and bulletproof. Backing up an entire 160 GB disk can take thirty
minutes although I normally only back up my primary partition and that
takes about ten. My copy was $40 a few years ago . . . I think it's
still about the same. Trial version does everything except let you
re-size partitions.
