It's about 36" at the shoulders above the aft spar, but tapers down to about 
32" at the spar where your butts will be sitting. This is not all that comfy 
for us heavier folks. I would suggest adding 2" or more to these dimensions 
as many others have done. Think about headroom as well...some people have 
their height in the legs while others of the same height, have shorter legs 
but longer torsos causing heads to squish against the canopy. Moving the 
seat bottom down to the base of the aft spar or raising the turtledeck are 2 
ways around this. The KR2S may be wider. I am still working with 1978 plans 
for an early KR2.
