I've done a lot of research and the legs with the scotch ply construction are the lightest and strongest and most flexible.
Also have you looked at the oil presure tube, not sure if your using an elec or manual if manual I've had problems with tubes, and yes it might weigh more but I've gone to alumn tubing instead of that damm plastic tubing.
