I bought a Longevity LS-200P Multi Purpose unit on a whim one day about a year and a half ago to try it out... It does Tig, stick (both 200A max) and Plasma (50A) cutting. It will do AC/DC and DC Wave...
At the risk of sounding like an ad, the thing is great. I use it so much, that I gave my MIG away. I mean, if you have that machine and an Oxy/A torch, that's just about all you need anyways. $1200... Yup. I was skeptical too. Mine came with a 5 year, "no matter what happens we'll replace it free warranty", so I took the chance. To test the limits, I put a nice fillet between a piece of .090 aluminum standing perpendicular to a 1" thick block, and it welded just fine. Dan Heath was there when I did it :-) Check it out at http://www.longevity-inc.com/productdetail_22/Multi-Purpose-Units/WeldAll-LS -200P.php The plasma cutter is handy too.. Contact me off list if you want to talk about it more. It costs more to fix it than it is worth. Wouln't mind upgrading to a tig. The Miller 160 Tig is about $1400. Has anyone tried the Harbor Freight Tig/MMA Inverter Welder part #98233 and if so, have any comments. Steve Bennett ifly...@msn.com
