With 1,500 feet to recover from a stall? Yes, I would say that is confidence. --- On Wed, 5/4/11, John Bouyea <jb2in...@coho.net> wrote:

He told me a lot about the project. It was shoehorned into his garage next to his wife's Alfa Romeo. His son was (is) an aeronautical designer. They changed the airfoil to something close to what was on the P51 he drove in the military. Roy told me they expected the stall speed to increase quite a bit. He wasn't too concerned about it; a sure sign of his confidence in his piloting skills. I recall his workmanship approaching an art form. I took several rolls of film that day; I have the paper photos around here somewhere. If I recover those, it would be fun to scan and post them for the group to see. His plane had a new Revmaster turbo when it was sold three or four years ago. Somebody in Oregon restored it and had it for sale . . . I remember talking to the person on the phone. Time flies . . . it may have been longer ago than that. The plane still looked like new in the sale pictures.
