He's talking about making it with the .75" side facing up and down vs front
to back....

At least that's how I read it....

Most designs that use a solid laminated spar do so with the intent of
bending it at the stubs, in order to have full-span dihedral vs gull-wings
like the kr2.... which kind of requires horizontal laminations in order to
make the bends possible
