I used a mixture meter on my KR and loved it. The sensor I used was the one that Aircraft Spruce sells. Found out after buying it that it was just a standard automotive sensor. They make heated and unheated sensors. The heated ones have four wires and preheat so they work sooner. That is not an issue on a plane when you don't have an electronic control unit running your fuel injection to control your mixture and need it working right after startup.
The meter I used was from Westach. None of the aircraft suppliers stock their meter, but if you call them they can get you a meter in a few days. I got one of their 2 1/4 meters and it was something like fourty bucks. I used that as a temporary meter while I waited a few weeks on a custom quad meter that was also pretty reasonable. They do their dual and quad meters with pretty much whatever combination you want and will custom print the legends with colored arcs, red lines, etc. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: KR> Mixture Meter update From: "Sid Wood" <smw...@md.metrocast.net> List-Post: krnet@list.krnet.org Date: Fri, July 13, 2012 6:10 am To: <kr...@mylist.net> I am updating the Mixture Meter presentation for AirVenture 2012 and will present this to attendees at the KR Gathering in September. If you have usage information regarding O2 sensors and displays that you are using in your KR-2 and KR-2S aircraft, please send it to me off-line. Specifically needed are engine make and model, O2 sensor make & model, display type-make & model, number of operating hours, fuel used and any comments on usability and maintenance. I will include your input in the presentation compilation for all. If you know of other aircraft types using O2 sensors, please send that along too. There is a copy of the 2011 presentation in the KRnet archives; the data and user info are somewhat outdated. Thanks for your help.
