Don't have pictures, summer of 1984 was a long time ago!

I traced the bottom fuselage contour and made a lightweight cradle about three
feet long centering at the rear center spar face, two x fours edgewise (1 1/2"w
by 3 1/2"h). Cradle with same width as fus at the cradle ends, attached side
blocks to keep it from slipping. Secured cradle fore and aft with light nylon
ropes to hold in position. Need cross strips to capture the pivot dowl at the
center point (aft face of the center spar location). Temporarily tie or duck
tape the cradle to the fuselage.

With the cradle in place raise the tail up and block it about 6-8 inches higher
than level.

Built a two x four 'A' frame platform with a round dowel attached across the
top for the pivot. Build this solid and six to eight inches wider than the fus
width (gonna have 600-800 pounds riding on it). Build to height needed so
dowel fits snug into the cradle position. Can be shimmed up in place, just be
sure its stirdy and securely in place.

Replace the rear fus block with one that allows the aircraft to set in a 2-3"
tail low-from-level attitude. May have to place ballast/sand bags on horizontal
stab to keep the tail down at this point. The main wheels should be clear of
terra firma. Then install blocks/platform under the front of the fus that will
allow it to rest in a nose low attitude of a couple inches.

If all is well the aircraft should be able to be pivoted about the 'level'
attitude by about 2-3 inches with everything secure and sturdy---don't risk
your treasure with anything flimsy. If all is well with the aid of a stool and
a couple fellows to stablize the aircraft fore and aft climb in. If your weight
and balance calulations show cg at the aft spar face with pilot and no fuel
then you should be able to play 'tetter totter" by leaning for and aft. If
signifacant weight/lift is needed by your helpers to 'tetter' it then
investigate: change the pivot point on the cradle til you find the cg; an inch
or two is no big deal?? Addition of fuel will move cg, foreward..

Mine had/has the original retracs and it tettered with 'em up or down. Good
luck, sure was reassureing to me on the first flight to know that I was not in
an dangerous aft of cg situation.
