Wanting some advice on building aluminum wing tanks how to fasten ribs . should
plywood ribs be on both sides of foam ribs
Mine was built using only foam ribs.also does anybody have a pattern for a
kr2rib probably built 20 years ago. Any information would be helpful thanks. I
would also like to run the tank behind main spar 5.5 feet or so

A card marked up with diagonal
close-pitched lines inserted behind the gauge will help to show up fuel level
due to refraction effect – fuel in the sight-gauge appears to alter the angle
of the lines. Enjoy the hyperlinks.

Morning Sid and all KR folks

Sorry for the delay I am busy working, house hunting, etc.  Anyway, we will go
with your suggestion of 12-13 Jan.  The address is 4712 Briggswood Ct.
Frederick, MD 21702

Link:  http://goo.gl/maps/yRteG

I will try to throw together a web page with more details.  I think is right
that the corvair college template is a good one to follow.

Craig

Craig,
My preference is 12 & 13 January.
Do you have an address for the hangar so we can
find it?  Would you want to do like the Corvair College? Any particulars
for tools, food, sleeping. etc.?

Thanks Jeff, that is good information. I have some tygon and vinyl tubing that
I can try in the quest for a suitable material for a sight tube. The thick wall
glass tube idea sounds promising.

Looks like for $5.00 you can just buy the extra floats and put one in your tube
maybe.

Yep, it looks like Doug Steen had the easiest answer with the red balls for
$5. I'll need two orifices to keep the ball from going in the tank, but
that's easily accomplished with some 1/4" aluminum bar with a little hole in
it. That'll help buffer the reading too, kind of like the capacitor on
electric gauges.

Thanks for all the input. I got a lot of good ideas for the next one...
