My elevator hinges were showing signs of wear and the pitch stability was
sloppy.Checked the hinges for security. They were fine except they had too
much wear between the bolt and hinge. The hinges are plans built with
aluminum channel and dash 3 bolts.Decided that the Dean hinges would not
work on my elevator because of the amount of rework involved in the
retrofit so I did the only thing I could.I installed new dash 3 bolts and
left the holes as is.Suprisingly the slack is gone and the pitch stab is
much inproved. The hinges have been used for 800+ hours and 20 years
service.Tommy W.
